Board Certified Doctor of Audiology

An audiologist since 1986, Dr. David K. Woodruff holds a Doctorate in Audiology from A.T. Still University (ATSU) – Arizona School of Health Sciences and a graduate degree in Communicative Disorders from San Diego State University. Subsequently he taught as an adjunct professor at San Diego State University training and lecturing nurses, hospital staff, and the public. In addition, he served as Audiology Consultant for the Poway School District in San Diego County. Dr. Woodruff has also served on the Board for the California Academy of Audiology and is currently a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
Specializing in clinical audiology, hearing aid dispensing, sound and noise control, sound level and environment studies for corporations, industries and municipalities nationwide, Dr. Woodruff also serves as an expert witness for legal cases involving hearing or noise trauma that cause hearing loss, vertigo and tinnitus.
Dr. Woodruff began private practice in San Diego in 1990, when he founded and managed the Hearing and Balance Center (across from Sharp Hospital) in Kearny Mesa, North County Audiology in Carmel Mountain and Rancho Santa Fe Audiology in Rancho Santa Fe.
Today, Dr. Woodruff continues his passion working and caring for patients at Rancho Santa Fe Audiology. He has also expanded his efforts to help those with hearing loss by volunteering and working as a board member with the charity organization Americans Helping Asian Children www.ahac.org whose annual mission takes volunteers to Southeast Asia to assist disadvantaged and hearing impaired children.
