Board Certified Doctor of Audiology
After an illustrious career marked by dedication, innovation and countless lives positively impacted, our esteemed colleague Dr. David K. Woodruff has officially retired.
During his career, Dr. Woodruff taught as an adjunct professor at San Diego State University, served as the audiology consultant for the Poway School District in San Diego County and was an expert witness for legal cases involving hearing or noise trauma that caused hearing loss, vertigo and tinnitus.
Dr. Woodruff began private practice in San Diego in 1990 when he founded and managed the Hearing and Balance Center in Kearny Mesa, North County Audiology in Carmel Mountain and Rancho Santa Fe Audiology. He expanded his efforts to help those with hearing loss by volunteering and working as a board member with the charity organization Americans Helping Asian Children, whose annual mission takes volunteers to Southeast Asia to assist disadvantaged children with hearing loss. Dr. Woodruff officially retired in June of this year. His devotion to his profession has been instrumental in our clinic’s success, and his unwavering commitment to providing excellent patient care will be missed.
A Note from Dr. Woodruff:
After many years of helping patients with their hearing care at RSF Audiology, my retirement brings me mixed emotions. While I will be spending quality time with my family and friends, I will deeply miss the relationships I have developed with my patients and their families over the years. I am extremely grateful to have been part of RSF Audiology since its founding nearly 30 years ago, and I am confident that Dr. Mattson, Dr. Blitt, Dr. Smith, Matt and Jessica will continue to provide excellent care and professionalism to all our patients.
